Our standards

Verdict Archive records what courts decided. Each case file is built from court opinions, dockets, corrections department records and official statements, with reputable news reports used only to date events or confirm them.

What we include and leave out

• Charges, verdicts, sentences, appeals, retrials and current status, each with a source.
• Exact legal outcomes: an acquittal, a dismissal and an overturned conviction are each recorded as what they are.
• We do not profile victims or their families, and we do not describe crimes in graphic detail.

Corrections

Send the judgment or official record that shows a different position to corrections@verdictarchive.org. Corrections are free. We never accept payment to change, add or remove anything.

Privacy

No advertising trackers. We do not collect personal data from readers.
